Belfast is preparing for one of its biggest ever celebrations of Irish music this August, with an outstanding programme of live concerts announced to coincide with Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026.
As thousands of musicians and visitors are expected to descend on the city, Music Capital will present a series of concerts featuring some of the biggest names in Irish traditional, folk and contemporary music across two iconic Belfast venues – St Comgall’s and Mandela Hall.
The programme begins on Thursday, 6 August, when acclaimed Dublin folk singer Aoife Scott brings her award-winning blend of traditional and contemporary folk to St Comgall’s. Known for her powerful vocals and acclaimed songwriting, Scott has become one of Ireland’s leading folk artists.
On Friday, 7 August, internationally acclaimed vocal quartet Windborne, with special guests Lisa Knapp and Gerry Diver, will perform an intimate concert showcasing the harmony singing that has earned them audiences across Europe, Australia and North America.
The same evening, Mandela Hall will host one of the week’s most anticipated events as Kíla & Brass, joined by special guest Clare Sands, bring their explosive fusion of traditional Irish music, brass, funk and world rhythms to Belfast. The unique collaboration promises an unforgettable live experience and is expected to be one of the standout performances of Fleadh week.
One of the highlights of the festival takes place on Saturday, 8 August, when two legendary forces in Irish traditional music share the same stage. Altan and Frankie Gavin & De Dannan will come together for a rare double bill at Mandela Hall, offering audiences a unique opportunity to experience two of Ireland’s most celebrated traditional acts in one evening.
The concert series concludes on Sunday, 9 August, with the return of Irish music legends Stockton’s Wing. With a career spanning more than four decades, the band’s energetic live performances and enduring influence have made them one of the country’s most respected traditional music groups.
With Belfast hosting Ireland’s flagship traditional music festival, organisers expect strong demand for tickets throughout the week.
