An Evening Of Fine Dining And Theatre At Magheramorne Estate

Taking centre stage in the tranquil setting of Magheramorne Estate, renowned chef Paula McIntyre MBE and internationally acclaimed Big Telly Theatre Company will take guests on a gastronomic journey filled with delicious local food, storytelling and live sounds.

The Captain’s Feast: Flavours and Folklore will run for two nights beginning on February 25 situated in the legendary coastal estate in Magheramorne, County Antrim, a popular venue for weddings, corporate events and special occasions due to its sweeping formal gardens and impressive views across Larne Lough.

Over the course of the evening, guests will first be welcomed by a sparkling glass bubble reception and then led to the elegantly designed ballroom where they will taste the quality flavours of the five course luxury menu designed by Paula and in-house catering, Jane’s Kitchen.

Based on the modern Irish renaissance cooking style, Jane’s Kitchen have been at the top of the hospitality sector for years due to their dedication to serving up excellent quality food and they provide catering for all dining and events that take place at the County Antrim estate.

Sara Allen, Head Chef at Jane’s Kitchen said: “The Captain’s Feast is a truly unique and immersive dining experience that will blow guests away and create everlasting memories for everyone.

“I am delighted to be working alongside Paula to bring together our culinary skills to delight guests in every aspect of our menu.”

Drawing on the coastal surroundings, Paula explained how the menu will feature some special sea inspired ingredients and references to the stories from the past.

“At the Magheramorne Captain’s Feast visitors can expect a delicious range of local produce including seaweed, some smoky rum, seafood, chestnuts and gold” she said.

“The courses will delicately weave in the history and heritage of the local area, an example being the story of the Spanish Armada sailor who was buried in Cairncastle with a chestnut in his pocket.

“Diners at the Captain’s Feast will be truly immersed in a journey of the senses.”

Guests also have the opportunity to upgrade their ticket and take full advantage of their visit to the Victorian estate and add on a relaxing overnight bed and breakfast stay in one of the deluxe bedrooms which boast magnificent views of the grounds.

This event has been funded by Tourism NI COVID Market Led Product Development Programme 2021-22.
