The Grand Opera House hosts an unmissable new production of JUDY – End of the Rainbow as part of a limited tour next month.
The show’s six performances mark the play’s Northern Ireland premiere, which is also being performed in Dublin and Cork before its Belfast run which starts on Wednesday 23 September 2026. Its Northern Ireland premiere will give local audiences their first opportunity to experience Peter Quilter’s acclaimed musical drama live on stage.
Celebrated West End performer Anna-Jane Casey (West Side Story, Chicago, Cats, Follies) takes on the role of Judy Garland.
Returning to Belfast after a stand-out performance in Northern Ireland Opera’s Follies in 2025, audiences can expect Casey’s trademark delivery of powerhouse vocals and dynamic stage presence as she steps into the shoes of one of stage and screen’s most beloved legends.

Joining Anna-Jane on stage is Will O’Connell as Judy’s devoted pianist Anthony, Darragh Shannon as her new fiancé Mickey Deans, and William Morgan as the Radio Interviewer.
Nominated for three Tony Awards and four Olivier Awards during its West End and Broadway runs, Judy – End of the Rainbow offers a powerful, funny, and deeply moving portrayal of showbiz legend Judy Garland. Set in London in December 1968, the play offers a rare glimpse behind the scenes of Garland’s famous comeback concerts at The Talk of the Town, balancing razor-sharp wit with raw emotional honesty.
Featuring magnificent renditions of Garland’s timeless classics, including Over the Rainbow, The Man That Got Away, When You’re Smiling, Just in Time, and All By Myself.
JUDY – End of the Rainbow is produced by Breda Cashe Productions and Pat Moylan Productions. Conor Hanratty directs with musical direction from Niall Kinsella.
