The Belfast Giants are pleased to announce the return of Kell Beattie and Carter Hamill, and the re-signing of Mack Stewart, on two-way agreements with Milton Keynes Lightning for the 2026/27 season.
The trio, all of whom are products of the Junior Belfast Giants, have made 121 combined appearances for the Giants, alongside garnering invaluable experience across the NIHL with the likes of Solway Sharks, Leeds Knights, Hull Seahawks, and Milton Keynes Lightning.
Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: “We’re pleased to have retained Kell and Carter on two-way agreements, and to welcome Mack back after an invaluable season with Coventry. Milton Keynes has a fantastic setup, and bringing in Pete [Russell], who’s one of the very best British coaches around, will no doubt benefit everyone associated with the club. We’ve been very pleased with how Kell, Carter, and Mack have been developing their games, and season-on-season they’re growing in skill and confidence, so I don’t doubt the upcoming campaign will be another impressive one for all three.”
During the 2025/26 season, Beattie and Hammill iced for Dumfries-based Solway Sharks, making 94 appearances between them. In an impressive campaign for the pair, Beattie contribute 30 total points from the blue line, meanwhile Hamill recorded 46 in as many games. 22-year-old Stewart had a breakout 2025/26 season, making 68 appearances and picking up eight points for the Coventry Blaze in all competitions, playing an important role in the West Midlands side’s run to the Challenge Cup final.
Pete Russell, Head Coach of Milton Keynes Lightning, commented: “It’s a great opportunity for these top young players to have two-way chances. We must work hard together to develop our British talents to reach their full potential, and opportunities like playing in Belfast at the right moments will only enhance this process. It’s a win-win situation.”
